Aden gets her Palate Expander Today!

We started the process with Aden's orthodontic work last fall, with having all of her remaining baby teeth pulled. Two weeks ago she was fitted for her palate expander, and today it was placed. She has been so brave and cooperative so far. She is very excited about getting her braces later on this summer. She is going to have to make some adjustments with her speech, but she'll adjust. She is excited about having a beautiful smile at the end of this whole process!

Aden's Class preforming for the Spring Carnival

Aden's class did a great job! So much time and effort goes into these preformances by the children, teachers, and parents etc...I helped make some of the bows for the girls. Great job everybody!

Azul's class preforming for the Spring Carnival

Azul has green bows and a green and purple skirt. Her class practiced for a couple of weeks, and they did a great job!

Multicultral Parade up at the School this Morning

This morning the school had their annual Multicultural Parade, and later this evening, they will have a carnival and dance. These are just a couple of pictures I took this morning. Azul's class was in full dress, and preformed their dance for the school Aden and Azul will both preform this afternoon in full custom. Most of the pictures are of Azul's class getting ready to preform.

Let the Sun Shine In!

Azul has her first window! She lost her first tooth this afternoon! She was so excited. She looks so cute with her missing tooth! They are both growing up too fast!

Cinco de Mayo!

This upcoming Friday, the school is having their annual
Multicultural Festival. The girls are involved in the "Ballet Folklorico" dance portion of the program. A lot of time, practice, and preparation is put into this evening at the school. There will be multicultural performance by the students, a carnival, and a book fair.
This is such a fun time! I volunteered to help with the hair bows for Aden's class this year, and made bright green bows with red roses. I also helped with the boys costumes in Azul's class. All of the boys have green glittery strip on each side of their pants. One of the things that strongly influenced our decision to put the girls in the "BILINGUAL" program at their current school, was the cultural side of the program!

Outdoor Fun!

The girls each had a $10.00 gift card at a local dollar store, and they did some shopping while I rested yesterday afternoon. They got back around 4:30 PM, and had made out like bandits, with an assortment of "stuff" to play with money to spare. The girls games were cancelled due to rain, but the afternoon turned our beautiful later on in the day.

Heading to San Antonio

I'm heading back down to San Antonio this morning. We are nearing the end of this whole "PROCESS", that's what we'll call it! This literally gives a new meaning to the word "VICTIM"! Carlos was fingerprinted back in 98', after a room mate started a scuffle, there were NO charges, NO sentencing, Carlos has NO record, but because his finger prints are in the system, well, I guess that's why they call it HOME LAND SECURITY!...to protect us from people like Carlos. Carlos has a 95% chance of winning his case. PRAISE GOD! It is pouring rain here in Round Rock, and I just got off the phone with someone in SA, and it is raining there also. We go back down next Tuesday, and then we go to court May 11th. Please keep us in your prayers!

Our first "PINK"Rose of Spring!

Our yellow roses have been blooming for a couple of weeks now, but we now have our fist pink rose! Our pink climbers are on the other side of the deck, and they prefer the warm/hot weather. All of our roses are just covered with buds, and hopefully we will be able to enjoy the blooms throughout the summer season. Our little Red Oak, that Carlos planted last Friday looks very happy, and hopfully will be providing some more shade to our yard this summer.

The Last 4 Days have been Like Vacation!

This 4 day Easter weekend has been like having a mini vacation! Yesterday we were all home for the 4 day Easter break, and we spent the day enjoying being at home. We had a BBQ, the girls had some of their friends over. These pics are of the girls doing flips and hand stands etc...on the trampoline. Carlos and Azul dancing to the radio, and of course, LOTS of confetti on the grass from all of the cascarones!

The New Addition!

We bought an Oak tree Friday, and Carlos was on a mission to get the tree planted. We have been wanting to plant a tree in this spot for a while. We had a nice rain Saturday night and Sunday morning, which help get our new baby off to a good start.

Happy Easter!

Well, Easter Sunday turned out to be beautiful! Saturday was a cold and dreary day, then we had some heavy rain during the night. Sunday morning when we woke up it was still raining, but around 10:30 am, as we were headed for Sunday services the sun began to peek out, and we had sunny skies for the rest of the day. We enjoyed our dinner outside and church services, and we had a little egg hunt for them after dinner. I am working tonight, but the girls and Carlos are off tomorrow for the Easter break. Happy Easter!

ALL ABOARD!!!

Yesterday we all took the train from Cedar Park to Burnett, Texas, for the annual Blue Bonnet Festival. WOW, we had so much fun! I can not remember this good of a family time! We left the house at 7 am, Saturday morning, stopped by the bank, then stopped for breakfast before arriving at the train station. After picking up our tickets at the depot, our adventure began. This trip always sells out as soon as the tickets become available, and I purchased tickets the day they went on sale. I now know why this is such a popular excursion! Our train was pulled by a diesel engine, and there were 14 passenger cars this year! You could not even see the end of the train, it was incredible! The trip took 2 hours, which went by VERY QUICKLY! The girls quickly made a little friend, Emily, who is 7 years old. We walked the entire length of the train from our seats to the caboose, then forward to the engine, then returned to our seats. As we were "touring"the train, a long the way, you could stop at the vestibules, which are an open window with a door, which you could stand and look out as the train was traveling. Very Cool! We arrived in Burnett at 11 am, and enjoyed 4 hours of fun at the Blue Bonnet Festival, including crafts, a parade, food, carnival rides, and a Texas style gun fight. We missed the gun fight, but hopefully we can catch it next year. We actually stopped the train outside of Burnett to pick up the Sheriff and one of the Saloon girls in the production, then they both came into each car to visit. There were 2 entire cars filled with ladies from the Red Hat Society. LOTS of RED HATS! It was a GREAT DAY!!!!! We are going back in December to ride the North Pole Flyer with the girls for Christmas!

Great Job Girls!

This morning the girls decorated a half dozen eggs and two Easter cups for a couple of their friends that will be coming by this afternoon. The girls did a great job! Tomorrow, we are all going to Burnett, TX by train for the annual Blue Bonnet Festival. I hope there is going to be LOTS of Blue Bonnets this year! Happy Easter!

Rock Wall!

Last night the girls went to a birthday party for one of their little friends, and we ended up staying about one hour more after the party, so the girls could climb the "ROCK WALL" a couple of times. We had gone out to Austin Park and Pizza during spring break, but it was soooooo crowded, the girls didn't really get to do a lot of the actives. These are just a couple of pictures I took last night. I just happened to have my camera in my purse.

Busy Week!

This week has been busy and has felt like it has been up-side down! On top of this, I have been battling a cold! We are going to Burnett, TX on Saturday for the annual Blue Bonnet Festival, so I traded shifts, and I worked Monday night vs Saturday night. Aden started the process of having her braces placed on Tuesday! I worked again on Wednesday, and, well today...LOTS of errands. I purchased our tickets to fly up to Ohio over the weekend, so lots of planning etc...The plan is to go up to the school and eat with the girls later on around 11:30. Everyone is home tomorrow, so I am already looking forward to Friday.

A Nice week!

Our Texas weather has returned! We discovered a nice park to hike and bike in our area, who would have known! Aden has her soccer practice every Monday and Wednesday, and we discovered there are three parks linked to the soccer park. While Aden is having her practice, we have been walking the trails, which wind through a wooded area with several creeks etc...the trails are paved, so there great for biking. We are going to go out and hike, bike, and picnic this up coming Friday, since Carlos and the girls are out of school that day.
