Happy Trails!

Today we were all home together, since it is the Martin Luther King holiday. We went out to a ranch in Georgetown, were for a 50 lb bag of feed or bale of hay donation, you can saddle up and ride for as long as you like. We started with the little Shetland ponies and finished with the "real" horses. We mostly lead the horses by a rope, since the girls have never ridden by themselves. They have been on ponies before, but never alone. Carlos and myself just walked with the girls. The owner was named Lynn, and she was very sweet and helpful. About half of the horses are rescues. It was incredibly windy and gusty, but the girls didn't want to leave. They got to help saddle, unsaddle, and put the ponies back out in the pasture. We bought the grain for the horses at a local feed store, and the girls enjoyed looking at all of the pullets, and rabbits in the back. It was a really nice afternoon together!
