Talent Night!

Last night the girls performed in the school's talent program. They also participated last year. This year Aden, Azul, and Tiffany, our little neighbor sang "I miss you", by Hannah Montana. It was so cute to see all of the students participating in the program. Next year, all 4th and 5th graders can join clubs etc...and is already talking about joining the White Tiger Dance Team, which also preformed last night. Break a leg!

More Snow Fun!

The girls got home from school, and they were so excited. They quickly made a snowman! It started to snow very heavily, and it was just so cold, that we made them come inside. Azul was just shaking, she was so cold! We all had some hot cocoa, and the girls changed their clothes and laid down a took a nap! We actually have found something that tires them out!!! We need more snow! Hee, Hee!!!!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

This has been such a cold, crazy winter! It was 75 degrees on Sunday, and we were out in shorts, and actually did some yard work! Last night a Canadian cold front blew in, and it is just bitterly cold, and it's snowing! I had an appointment this morning in Georgetown, which is north of Round Rock, and there was already about a half an inch of snow when I came out to the parking lot! I actually had to scrap my windshield and mirrors to drive home. The snow started to hit here about 10 am! This is suppose to continue until tomorrow! And of course, I work tomorrow! But it is so pretty, and it looks so clean and fresh! I am sure the girls at school are excited. Azul was suppose to go a field trip today, so I will find later if they ever made the trip! I took these pictures as it started to snow, and this is a very wet cold snow!

Day Trip to Lockhart

Yesterday, we took a day trip to Lockhart for some good BBQ! We have been wanting to go, but we are never all off at the same time with our current schedules. I am STILL on a night shift! Yesterday, the girls and Carlos were off, and well, I had worked all weekend, but I still wanted to go! There is a great place to eat in Lockhart called "Smitty's"! It is located in an old building, and when you walk in, the the whole place smells of mesquite. The walls are all stained with soot, and there are open fires, yes, open fires right on the floor where you stand in line to order. LOVE IT! The food is so good, it was worth the drive! There were so many people that I couldn't get any pictures of the fire on the floor. The whole lot behind the smokehouse is filled with firewood! The courthouse on the corner in really interesting, so I snapped a quick pic from the car. We wanted to stop at McKinney Falls on the way back, but it was already 4 pm. We'll do that another day.
